Dixie Thomas-Driver passed away on June 29, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. She was born on December 27, 1931 in Ellensburg to Howard and Edith Thomas. She spent her childhood on a ranch in the Upper Naneum District adjacent to the Thomas homestead. She attended Ellensburg schools through high school. She later moved to Long Beach, California and attended a junior college, receiving her certificate as a dental assistant. She worked for several years in this field and then progressed to office manager. She married James "Bob" Driver on January 15, 1955. After retiring, she and Bob spent the last 12 years between a Southern California beach home and an Almont, Colorado mountain home. She loved the beach and the mountains where her ashes will be committed. Dixie is survived by her husband Bob Driver of Montrose, CO, her daughter Nikki (Driver) Hewitt of Powderhorn, Colorado and her son David Driver of San Clemente, California.Memorial donations can be made to The Denver Hospice at: thedenverhospice.org.
