BENTON, ARKANSAS - Dixie Lee (Daugherty) Seibel, age 65, died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Arkansas.She was born on January 22, 1951 in Wellington, Kansas, the daughter of Jess and Glenda Daugherty. She was a graduate of Wellington High School, Wellington, Kansas and a graduate of Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas with a double major of music and elementary education. She later earned her Master's degree in Library Science at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Her senior year at Southwestern College, she was a member of the school's USO troop that toured the South Pacific entertaining the US troops stationed there. She played the piano and had parts in the troop's musical, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown".On April 22, 1973, she married Daryl Lee Seibel at the Christian Church in Wellington, Kansas. She began work as an elementary music teacher at Riley, Kansas and later after their son was grown, she established a career as Document Controller with Kraft Foods where she retired two years ago. Survivors include her husband, Daryl, of Benton, Arkansas, along with her son, Micah and his wife, Adrienne and their son, Liam of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her brother, Gary Daugherty and his wife, Edna of Welch, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial service will be at 10:30a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Bucklin United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Jones officiating.
