Dixie L. MooreYorkDixie Lee (Smith) Moore went home to be with her Lord and Savior after battling a lengthy illness on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at York Hospital at the age of 74.Dixie was born on October 16, 1941 in Bittersville, and was the daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Corena E. (Brown) Smith. She worked at Leader Heights Nursing Home as a nursing assistant, retiring in 1997.Dixie is survived by three sons, Wade A. Moore of Coudersport, Cory A. Moore of York, Duane A. Moore and wife, Robin of Red Lion; one grandchild, Tyler Moore of York; one brother, Gary "Sarge" Smith his wife, Judy of Palmetto, FL; and three nephews, Kevin, Keith and Steven Smith, all of Palmetto, FL. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, followed by a Graveside Service of Honor and Praise for Dixie at 12 p.m. on Wed. at Salem Community Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth R. Gibson of Pleasant View Brethren In Christ Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to , 924-N Colonial Ave. York, PA 17403.Dixie was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandson, whom was her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
