Dixie Strickland WoodardDixie Strickland Woodard, 88, of Tallahassee entered into rest on April 27, 2017. She was born on June 9, 1928 to Sidney and Maude Strickland in Tallahassee, attended grade school in Leon County and graduated from Leon High School in 1946. After high school, Dixie attended Florida State University. Dixie was a proud homemaker and a true southern lady. Prior to returning to Tallahassee, she was a longtime resident of Winter Park. She took pride in creating a loving home for her husband and daughters. She and her husband Robert, loved to travel and see new places. She loved the beach, playing poker and was a member of a bridge club. Dixie was known as a great seamstress and an accomplished gardener. She was a lover of crafts and created special pieces with needlework. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Robert; her parents, Sidney and Maude Strickland and her siblings, Helen Strickland Sites and Larry Strickland.Dixie is survived by her daughters, Shirley Oglesby and Carol Keyes (Fran); grandchildren, Fran Keyes, III (Becky), Staci Mildenberger (Scott) and Amanda Drawdy (Vance) as well as great-grandchildren, Thomas Keyes, Skylar, Seth, Sloane and Synclair Mildenberger. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 4-6pm at Culley's MeadowWood - Timberlane Road Chapel and the Funeral Service will begin at 1pm on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Culley's MeadowWood - Timberlane Road Chapel.
