RACINE - Dolores M. (nee: Sollazo) Thorsen, 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints. She was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on March 5, 1940, the daughter of the late Dominic and Irene (nee: Toth) Sollazo. Dolores was a graduate of Washington Park High School. She continued her education at St. Mary's School of Nursing and worked as an LPN at St. Mary's and later Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints for 42 years. On October 5, 1983 Dolores was united in marriage to Ivan Thorsen at Bethania Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker and shopping. Surviving is her husband of 32 years, Ivan; sons, David (Elizabeth) Christensen of Mt. Pleasant, Dale (Susan) Christensen of Canton, MI, Don Christensen of St. John, IN and Doug (Wendy) Christensen of Pasadena, MD; five grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Christensen. In keeping with Dolores' wishes private services will take place with burial at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
