Dolores Sarah Riggs LaMont1938 - 2016Dolores Sarah Riggs LaMont, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016, from complications of a stroke and a hip fracture. Dolores was born on May 9, 1938, to Louis B. and Lucy Thompson Riggs, in Logan, Utah. She grew up on the family farm in Benson, the youngest of four children. In her early teenage years she was rodeo queen and had a great love for horses. Dolores was an excellent softball player and was a member of the Billmark Sporting Goods team for many years. In 1953, she met and married the love of her life, Gordon Andrew LaMont. They moved to California when they were first married and Gordon worked for an aircraft manufacturer while Dolores welcomed a daughter, the first of their four children into the family and was a full time mother and homemaker. They then moved back to Cache Valley, where they added a son and two more daughters to their family. Dolores worked at Gossner's Cheese Factory, Smith's Food King, The House of Carpets, The Furniture Loft and completed her working career at Herff Jones. She had many life long friends and really loved skiing at Beaver Mountain and golfing at the Logan Golf and Country Club. Her greatest joy was traveling with Gordon, it didn't matter where, as long as they were together. Dolores is survived by her three daughters, Kim LaMont Lenhart, Taya LaMont Winslow and Candace LaMont Allred, three granddaughters, Brandee Spackman, Tanaua LaMont and Toni Brown, two grandsons, Andrew J. Allred and Derek D. Allred. Her sister, Trilva Poppell and her brother Gerald Riggs, brothers in law Paul R. LaMont and Larry Harris and sister in laws DeNora (Job) Miller, Villa Craig, and Vicky (Lowell) Leiser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, her son Stanley Andrew LaMont, her parents, her brother Buster Louis Riggs, sister in law Dorthy Harris and brother in law Larry Craig.As per Dolores' wishes there will be no funeral service or viewing. There will be a family gravesite dedication. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.allenmortuaries.net
