Dolores V. Burns 1934 - 2016An Inspiration To All Who Knew HerCOLD BROOK - Dolores V. Burns, 81, of State Route 8, died on October 24, 2016, at her home with her loving family by her side, after a brief illness.Dolores was born on December 8, 1934, in Utica, a daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Saldato) Palladino. She was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. In 1959, she met the love of her life, Robert P. "Bob" Burns, Sr., and they were united in marriage on February 26, 1960 at Olivet Presbyterian Church, Utica. Robert preceded her in death on March 8, 1996. Dolores was a stay-at-home mom for many years, raising her five beautiful children. She always made sure they had their homemade cookies, breads and most of all, her homemade pasta. She loved her Sunday dinners, as well as holiday gatherings with her family, and her evenings out bowling with her husband and their many great friends. She also enjoyed time well spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dolores was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.Survivors include her five children, Katherine Davis, of Cold Brook, Robin (Timothy) Proulx, of Utica, Robert Burns, Jr. (Dominica), of Utica, Nancy (Daniel) Greiner and Kelly (Michael) Malecki, all of Cold Brook; eleven grandchildren, Courtney Davis (Rod), Nicole Davis (Daniel), Robert Burns, III (Katie), Ashley (Russ) Tabor, Christopher Burns (Josetta), Danielle (Brandon) Roark, Justin Greiner, Michael Malecki, Jr. (Brittany), Mathew Malecki (Marissa) and Miranda and Madison Proulx; eleven great-grandchildren, Destiny and Brooke Humiston, Hailie Davis, Justin Stewart, Jr., Paislee Huckabone, Jackson Burns, Rylee and Aubrey Tabor, Celeste and Caleb Burns, and Marlee Roark; one sister, Josephine Maglaya, of AZ; two half-brothers, Joseph Palladino, of Sauquoit, and Anthony Palladino, of Utica; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Dolores was predeceased by four sisters, Sara Zuranski, Nancy Malachino, Mary Carey and Eleanor Palladino; and by her son-in-law, Mark Davis.Funeral services will be held at the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, on Friday, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Robert Lindsay, Pastor of the Newport United Methodist Church, officiating.
