Don M. Beery, age 91, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016, as a resident of the Jefferson Manor in Brookville. He was born on May 3, 1924, in Sidney, OH, to the late Salthiel A. and Carrie D. (Penrod) Beery. He was married to Hazel L. (Willison) Beery, who preceded him in death on August 25, 2013. Don honorably served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II, in the Pacific Theater. He retired from the Department of Defense after a 37 year career. He was an aircraft mechanic at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He is a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Brookville Church of Christ. Don is survived by 1 son, David Cowan of Las Vegas, NV; 1 daughter-in-law, Linda (Malcolm) VanSteenberg Goss, of Erie, PA; and 2 grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Don is preceded in death by 3 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 daughter. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, from 12noon - 1pm at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 1:00pm and officiated by Evangelist John Otis.
