McDonald, DonDonald Warren McDonald, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2017 after a short illness. He was born on July 17, 1949 to the late Donald and Jane (Rodden) McDonald Sr. In Milwaukee, WI.Don graduated from St. Catherine High School in Racine, WI and attended St. Norbert College in De Pere. He worked various jobs, recently retiring from his successful business in sales.Don married Elizabeth Ann Schaeffer on April 16, 1981 in Green Bay. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family in De Pere.Don was an active swimmer, often long distance. In August 2012 he swam across the Bay of Green Bay from Marinette to Egg Harbor for the children of Exceptional Equestrians.While visiting family and friends he joined a group swim from San Francisco to Alcatraz. He traveled the world and enjoyed planning trips for family and friends, especially his grandkids.Don liked the outdoors, movies, Packer games with friends, fireworks, music and cheese! He participated in many clubs and charities. Don loved camping in the Rialta with the grandchildren.In his words, "I've been blessed and lucky. Great family who I adore. Met a lot of people, made a lot of friends, done a lot of jobs, been on lots of adventures. Close to being part of history a few times and curious about what if anything comes next. Hope to see Jesus, family and friends for a long, long time."Don is survived by his wife of 36 years, Liz, his step-sons John (Lisa), De Pere, Kris (Jodi), Miami, FL, and his grandchildren, Brianna and Brandon, De Pere. He is further survived by his sister, Mary Jane (Jerry) Broom, Grand Junction, CO, brother, Bruce (Karen) McDonald, Satellite Beach, FL, nephews Jason and Jeff Broom and Ryan and Devin McDonald.Family and friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1307 Lourdes Avenue, De Pere, beginning at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.
