Dona J. WebbPreston, Idaho - Dona Luzon Jensen Webb, 95, died peacefully at the home of her daughter Marsha Webb in Sandy, Utah on January 4, 2015. Dona was born on October 15, 1919, in Hyrum, Utah to John and Helen Jensen. Her father, as a small child, was amongst the original settlers of Hyrum and Dona was one of the last surviving of the original Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She graduated from South Cache High School and attended the LDS Business College.She married Jay Tims in 1941. He died in an accident in 1947. She married Gordon Webb in 1951. They moved to Preston in 1955 where she resided until, in recent years and in failing health, she moved to Sandy where she was cared for by her daughter, Marsha. In Preston Dona was active in the Church and served in Auxiliary roles in the Primary, including as the leader of the Trekkers, and in the Relief Society. She was a Cub Scout leader and remembered with some pride that she led the troop of Robert Fackrell, Nick Rust and others to the top of Little Mountain. She belonged to the Pickwick club and worked very hard to prepare when it came her turn to give the book review. She joined her husband in many of his Lions Club activities, including readying the hotdog stand for the Rodeo.She worked for a time at the Preston Carnegie Library, but for many more years as the school secretary at the Jefferson and the Junior High School first for Angus Condie and then for John Palmer when he became the principal. She enjoyed those assignments including the opportunity it allowed to interact with the students, often reaching out to help one or another when she could.She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Gordon Webb, a brother Max Jensen and a sister Bernel Ottley. She is survived by her children, Scott Tims of Camarillo, California, Kent Webb of Los Altos Hills, California and Marsha Webb of Sandy, Utah and by a granddaughter, Amber Esplin of Alexandria, Virginia.Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston, Idaho.
