The Obituary of Donald Lee Moore
Born in Detroit, Michigan on July 6, 1950, Donald Lee Moore was the sixth child of ten children born to his parents, Ula C and Anna Louise Moore. Throughout his life, Donald placed a high value on family and sharing in family love.
His grandfather Nelson Nathaniel Moore Sr. set the tempo and the precedence for keeping family together. Donald and his older brother Christopher Harris carried on this value and practice within their generation. As the 5th eldest sibling and big brother to his younger sister and brothers, Christopher's mindser was also shared by Donald. They were family-oriented, encouraging, and supportive of each other. These values were very important to Donald.
Growing up, Donald was a junior deacon within the Baptist Church where he was an energetic young person with a passion for the Lord. Although Donald was not raised in the church, his journey ultimately led him to dedicate his life to Jesus Christ in 1985. As part of his new life expression of faith, his ministry to his family evidenced his salvation through speaking in tongues. Proof that he wanted Jesus more than anything.
At a low point in Donald's life, he contemplated suicide, but God intervened in a powerful way.
Donald received salvation in the year 1985 through Christ Jesus and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit at St Mark Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C) with Pastor Fred S. Tillman in Detroit Michigan where he also became a member, and Donald remained a dedicated and faithful member for many years. Subsequently, Donald's last places of Church membership was at Greater Philadelphia Church with Pastor James L Cook, and Greater Community Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Seay. As a result of his strong faith and commitment to a calling and his passion in life, Donald Lee Moore Sr. became an ordained Elder in the C.O.G.I.C. church. Even still, he continued his deep devotion and involvement within the life of his family. Donald departed this life on December 24th, 2024.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Ula C and Louise Moore; and his brothers Clarence (Pepper) Moore, Philip Moore, Clementine (Kim) Harris, Richard Harris and Christopher Harris.
