Donald Auld Fuller, DVMIndianola, IowaDonald Auld Fuller, DVM, of Indianola, died Friday, March 3, at Lutheran Hospital. He was born on September 21, 1922, in Kirkville, Iowa, the only child of Glenn and Lora (Auld) Fuller. He graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1940.Donald enlisted in the U. S. Navy on December 9, 1941, completing Boot Camp at Great Lakes Naval Station. He was assigned to Naval Intelligence and served in Lion 8 which set up communications for the Pacific Fleet in Guam.Following service to his country, Donald attended Augustana College where he met the love of his life, Janice Lucht, in the fall of 1946. They were engaged on Valentine's Day, 1947, and married on June 12, 1947.Donald and Janice moved to Huxley, Iowa; she taught school and he studied at Iowa State University. He was awarded a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1950. He established and maintained a veterinary practice in Eldridge, Iowa, from 1950 to 1963.In 1963 Donald, Janice, and their family moved to Indianola. He was Director of Clinical Research for Diamond Laboratories (Syntex Agribusiness) from 1963 to 1982. Until 1992, he owned Kindness Pet Clinic in Indianola. After selling that practice, he worked as a manager for the USDA and retired in 1996.During retirement, he repaired clocks, marketing himself as "Clock R & R." Throughout his adult life, Donald was involved in Lions Club.Donald is survived by his three sons, Allan (Janet Dutcher) of Urbandale, Donald Mark (Naim Briggs) of Topeka, KS, Brian (Laurie) of Indianola, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Janice and his parents.A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianola on Saturday, March 11, at 11:00 AM with visitation at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will follow the service.Committal services will be at Davenport Memorial Park at a later date.In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorial gifts to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
