Donald L. 'Porky' Bauman died August 30th, 2011 at Yakima Memorial Hospital, following a very brief battle with cancer.Don was born on May 6, 1933 in Dayton Washington to Hershel and Ella Bauman.Don served in the military and eventually retired after 39 years of service as a meat manager for Albertsons.Don married the love of his life, Hertha Leseman on July 21st, 1956.They lived in several states until they settled in Ellensburg in 1971.Don is preceded in death by his 6 siblings, his wife Hertha and his grandson, Cameron Osborn.His survivors include his daughters, Teresa (Dennis) Beckett, Debbie (Rusty) Osborn and Dawn (Richard) Hess. He has 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren that he adored, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He has one surviving brother, Clancy Bauman.Don loved and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, but the real joy of his life was golfing with his lifetime friends weekly.Services will be held in Dayton, Washington at Hubbard Rogg Funeral Home on September 17th at 11am, with a reception following at the Eagles.A celebration of his life will be held on September 23rd from 3-9pm at the Ellensburg Golf Course. In lieu of flowers, Don's favorite charities were Hospice Friends of Ellensburg, 401 E. Mountain View Avenue, Suite 3, Ellensburg, WA 98926 and St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
