Henegar, Donald Burley Donald Burley Henegar, age 94, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, passed away on September 27, 2017. He was preceded in death by Mary Henegar, his loving wife of 66 years. He is survived by his son, Gregg Henegar of Boston, Massachusetts. Donald was born on May 10, 1923 to Merle and Harley Henegar in Arcola, IL. He attended public schools in Hindsboro, IL and then went on to attend the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the Agriculture Department. His college education was interrupted for eighteen months of service in the U.S. Naval Air Corps. After World War II he completed his education and entered the work force, culminating in an eighteen year tenure as Cashier and Board Member of the Minonk State Bank in Minonk, IL. In retirement, Donald moved to Arizona, where he became a dedicated volunteer at the Chandler Center for the Arts, serving twelve years on the Board of Directors. Donald also became an avid hiker, and as an early member of the Sun Lakes Hiking Club, conducted weekly hikes to all parts of Arizona, including five trips to the bottom of the Grand Canyon with his beloved wife, Mary. At this time no service is scheduled.
