Donald Lee "Donnie" CollettAugust 29, 1960 - March 12, 2016Donald L. Collett, 55, of Nampa, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home. Donald "Donnie" was born on August 29, 1960 to Carlo Collett and Margaret Minnick in Wilmington, Ohio. He lived in Ohio and California before coming to Idaho at the age of 14. As a teen he worked any job he could to help his Mom and siblings. He met the love of his life Rebecca Handerson on Valentines Day 1979 and married her a year later. You could see the love for her in his eyes and they acted like newlyweds throughout their 37 years together. Donnie and Becky started their married life in Nampa, Idaho then moved to Greenleaf, Idaho where they raised two boys Don (1980) and Matt (1982). In November of 1997 they bought a house in Nampa where they currently reside. Donnie worked many different jobs until he found his passion in owning his own business, Donald's Mobile Repair, where he worked on many local farmers equipment. His two sons helped him when they could and in the last year his oldest grandson began helping him. Over the years his two sons married and gave him 4 amazing grandchildren, Quintin, Johnathan, Breanna and Kyson. Donnie's grandchildren lit up his life and he spoiled them often by sneaking them cookies.Donnie was an amazing son, husband, father, grandfather and uncle, and everyone he met was a friend. He would help anyone who needed it. Donnie was a kind and loving man to anyone he would meet. Donnie could talk to you for hours about anything and everything as well as working with the phone to his ear. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with his family were some of his favorite things to do. He also loved taking his wife on gambling trips to casinos. Donald went peacefully in his home of natural causes.He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Becky Collett; sons and daughters in law Don (Megan) and Matt (Heather); Grand kids Quintin, Johnathan, Breanna and Kyson; His four legged kids Gin, Sophie, Rosa and Taz as well as his grand puppies Kuma, Kenya and Tank.He was preceded in death by both his parents and a brother Rick Collett. A visitation and viewing will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So., Nampa. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Adventure Plaza of the Middleton Baptist Church, 113 Main St., Middleton.
