STURTEVANT - Donald Dalziel, age 78, a resident of Sturtevant, died Friday February 15, 2013 at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital. He was born on October 29, 1934 in McHenry IL to Bernard and Adeline (Kenders) Dalziel. Don was united in marriage to Carol Christensen on August 24, 1957 at Atonement Lutheran Church. He served proudly in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. Don was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sturtevant, serving as an usher, Elder and Greeter. He also served on the building committee for the gym at Concordia Lutheran School. He received his pilot’s license when he was 16 and enjoyed flying his home built airplanes and remote control planes. He was a member of the EAA and RC Club. Don is survived by his beloved wife Carol. He was a loving, caring and proud father to Linda Dalziel of North Hollywood CA, Kurt (Janine) Dalziel of Wind Lake, Brian (Lori) Dalziel of Milwaukee and his grandson Eric Dalziel of Wind Lake. He is further survived by three sisters, Aprile Alexander of Westfield IN, Joyce (Gene) Llanas of Kenosha and Sharon (Ted) Bierchen of Lake Villa IL and also by his brother-in-law Jim Christensen and sister-in-law Mary Christensen of Racine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law George Alexander and Don Wiatr and by his nephew Bradley Alexander. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services with full Military Honors will take place Saturday February 23, 2013 at 11:00AM at Faith Lutheran Church (8500-Durand Ave. Sturtevant WI). Visitation with the family will take place from 10:00AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will take place on Monday February 25, 2013 at 11:00AM at Westlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Concordia School or Wheaton Franciscan Hospice. A special thank you to Dr. Engel and the entire staff of Wheaton Franciscan Cancer center for their loving and compassionate care of Don.
