Donald David Dwight, 74, died October 12, 2014, at Westland House in Monterey CA. He was born March 2, 1940, in Manchester, NH to Marion W. and Elmer B. Dwight. He graduated from Bishop Bradley HS in Manchester, NH in 1958 and Catholic University of America in Washington DC in 1963. He taught 6th grade as a Brother of the Christian Schools at St Cecilia's Parish in Brooklyn NY 1963-65. Enlisting in the US Air Force, he served with the 1st Mobile Communications Group in the Philippines 1965-68. He received his accounting degree in 1971 from Fresno State University, where he met his wife of 28 years, Sharon. They married in 1972 and resided in Monterey where he worked as an accountant for the US Army at Fort Ord and, later, at DLI where he retired in 2005. After retirement, his activities included walking, studying New Testament Greek and Spanish, Breakthrough Monterey, and spending time with his many friends. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Milah. He is survived by daughter Catherine of Folsom CA, son David and former wife Sharon of Monterey. He will be remembered for his kind, gentle and loving ways. A Celebration of Don's Life will take place at The Paul Mortuary Chapel on October 23, 2014 at 5:00 pm. He was a member of St Angela Merici Church where a memorial Mass will be held October 24, 2014, at 11 am.
