Donald E. Andersen WILD ROSE, WI Donald E. Andersen, age 77, died on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton, WI. He was born on November 26, 1935 in Racine, WI, the son of Richard A. and Irene (Whipple) Andersen-Carter. He married Naoma V. Samse on June 1, 1957 in Plymouth, WI. Don is survived by his wife; Naoma, children; David Andersen of Rochester, Debra (Steve) Wyma of Union Grove, and Steven Andersen of Federal Way, WA, grandchildren; Danielle (Cody) Hauch, Jonathan Andersen, Katherine Andersen, and Ashley Wyma, great grandchild; Caden Kallas, step-brother; Robert (Melody) Carter of Racine, step-sister-in-law; Jean Carter of New Hampshire, brother-in-law; William (Judy) Samse of Sheboygan Falls, and aunt; Ellen Whipple of Milwaukee. Don is further survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a step-brother; James Carter. Don had been employed at the AMC/Chrysler Automobile plants in Kenosha and Milwaukee for over 30 years, retiring as an accountant. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserves from 1953 1961. While living in Racine Don performed as a percussion drummer with the Racine Kilties and the Boys of 76 Drum and Bugle Corps. He had volunteered at the former Greater Milwaukee Open golf tournament for 25 years. After moving to the Wild Rose area Don was an active member of the Shepherd of The Lakes Church in Waupaca, the Waupaca Curling Club, and the Waupaca Lions Club. He was also an avid golfer and a true Green Bay Packer fan. A memorial service will be held at the Shepherd of The Lakes Church in Waupaca, WI on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM, with the Reverends Dean Wheeler and Mary Bope, officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:30 AM 1:00 PM. Military honors will be observed outside the church following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in memory of Donald E. Andersen. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
