Donald R. FulkersonSOUTH ZANESVILLE: Donald R. Fulkerson, 89, of South Zanesville, died at 4:31 a.m. Mon. Nov. 14, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sept. 9, 1927 in Zanesville, a son of the late Ralph and Mabel (Eppley) Fulkerson. He was a member of the South Zanesville United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of both the
United States Navy and the
United States Air Force. He operated the family business established in 1920 by his father, known as the R.L. Fulkerson and Sons Painting and Decorating. He was a lifelong musician, playing the tuba for 60 years in the Zanesville Memorial Band. He also performed with the Symphonic Winds of Muskingum College, and was in multiple Dixie Land bands, concluding with the Toll House Jazz Band. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Eleanor (Philip) Fulkerson. Three children Donald T. (Jeannie) Fulkerson, Pamela (Nathaniel) Honaker, and Patrice (Steve) Stackhouse. Six grandchildren Todd Fulkerson, Elizabeth Early, Jeremy Honaker, Brandon Honaker, Lindsey Wilkes, and Stephanie Stackhouse. Six great-grandchildren Sage Wilkes, Sydney Wilkes, Sophia Wilkes, KV Kendrix, Jayln Stackhouse, and Jaden Stackhouse. One brother Mark (Edna) Fulkerson. Two sisters Mary Lou (Robert) Powell and Ina Ann Knupp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Phyllis Rasor. Two brother-in-laws Duane Knupp and Clarence Rasor. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thur. Nov. 17, 2016 at WILLIAM THOMPSON & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Dee Rader officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park where Zanesville
