Davenport, Donald Gene,Donald Gene Davenport, 78, of Hillview, returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 21, 2017.Donald was born on April 20, 1938, in Greensburg, KY. He retired from General Electric in 1993 after 30 years of service. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.Donald leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, his wife of 59 years, Barbara Curtsinger Davenport; sons, Tony (Rhonda), Timmy, Terry, and Scott Davenport; sister, Wanda Winstead (Jack); brother, William Davenport (Tammy); 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and special great-grandson, Wyatt Keeling. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivory Davenport and Mary Magdalene Marcum Davenport and his sister, Gladys Porter. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 2pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood, & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.). Burial will follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and Thursday from 12pm until the time of the service.
