Donald Gene GobelDonald Gene Gobel, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 at his home in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was born on March 1st, 1932, and raised by Raymond W. and Mary Calvert-Harris of Crawfordsville. He married Mary Florence Largent on Jan 4, 1952. He is survived by his wife and two grown children, David Gobel and Cathryn Gobel-Taylor, his beloved cat, Mia; also, a sister, Carolyn Harris-Horney, and several nieces and nephews.After being graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1950, he served as a Crawfordsville City Policeman for 23 years, and subsequently, Police Commissioner. He also attended several professional schools during his police career. Later he worked as a U.S. Marshal - Special Deputy first for Indianapolis and then for Lafayette Federal Courts, and then as an employee of several automobile companies in Crawfordsville.Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. with Masonic Rights at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 8th at Hunt and Sons Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9th with Reverend Isaac Zull officiating, and burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
