Donald "Buck" Henry Gibson, 78, of Heber, CA passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Donald was born on May 11, 1937. He grew up and attended school in Calexico, California. Don joined the
United States Navy in 1956 and was stationed in Oahu, Hawaii and Mare Island in California. Don owned and operated Gibson's All American Aggregates, Inc., a sand and gravel business based in the Imperial Valley, since 1966. In 1989 Don and Rusty Schaefer formed Gibson & Schaefer Inc., a ready-mix concrete and delivery company, which was based in Heber with locations throughout Imperial County, until the business was sold in 2014. He was respected and renowned in the concrete industry. He served on the Brawley Airport Advisory Commission and Imperial County Building Industry Association for 18 years and had been a Brawley Chamber of Commerce member for several years. He was a founding member of the Community Valley Bank and served on the executive board. He served on the Imperial County Land Use Commission for 3 years and retired from the Imperial County Sheriffs Aero Squadron after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Clayton Gibson and Marjorie Ritter Gibson. Don is survived by his loving wife, Birdie/Rhoberta Gibson; daughters, Debra (Danny) Copeland, Wanda (Sam) Couchman, Marjie (Jim) McLaughlin, and Janice (Steve) Gibson-Simpson; sons, Sean (Gaybe) Lincoln, and Carey Lincoln; sister, Beverly (Wayne) Stroud; grandchildren, Melissa (James) Mapes, Heather (Seth) Lee, Sarah (Bryan) Copeland, Larry Stage, Scott Stage, T.J. Singh, Erica (Shannon) Whitt, Brianna McLaughlin, Anthony Simpson, Tiffany Simpson, Sean Devin Lincoln, Brandon Lincoln, C.J. (Sonja) Lincoln, Saree Lincoln, Sammy (Dolores) Couchman Jr, and Thomas Couchman; great-grandchildren, Jake, Bethany, Ben, Luke, Rudy, Cassie, Jayden, Katelynn, Jared, Ellie, Sammy III, and Sophia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro. Service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 9 a.m. with John Jones officiating at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery. He will forever be remembered for his wisdom, bright smile and generous heart.
