Donald E. Houtsinger1927 - 2013 Donald E. Houtsinger, 86, of Delavan, formerly of Kenosha passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital in Milwaukee with his loving family by his side. Donald was born on April 4, 1927, in Kenosha to John and Ruth (Witt) Houtsinger and he was educated in the schools of Kenosha. Donald joined his father in the farming business at the age of 16. Donald, his father and his brother, Alvin created Houtsinger Incorporated in 1973. After the death of his father in 1974, Donald and Alvin farmed together until the very end. Donald enjoyed bingo, reading and especially the outdoors as shown in his love of the land and his cows. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends.He was preceded in death by, his parents and his nephew, John Lorberter.Donald is survived by, his brother, Alvin (Mayabelle) Houtsinger of Delavan; two sisters, Phyllis Davison of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., and Gladys (Dale) Epping of Kenosha; beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Donald will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
