Donald Lee Arndt of Prescott passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 with his loving family by his side, age 66 years. Don was born on Sept. 13, 1948 in Cass City to Earl and Pearl (Poskitt) Arndt. He worked as a journeyman in the iron industry for 22 years. Those who knew Don will always remember how much he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time outdoors. Don also enjoyed listening to music and he was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. Most of all, he absolutely loved spending time with all of his family and he always was excited about family gatherings. He will be truly missed by all who loved him. Don is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Arndt of Prescott, whom he married on May 3, 1992; his children, Angie (Tony) Lyons of Prescott, Steve Grabow of Whittemore, Amy (Stephen) Schmidt of Hale and Kristy Bergquist of East Tawas; his mother, Pearl Arndt of Prescott; eight grandchildren, Darrin (Carmen) Scoles, Nathan Scoles, Leandra Kaake, Tony Lyons Jr., Marissa Schmidt, Conner Schmidt, Grace Bergquist, and Shelby Bergquist; three great grandchildren, Audrey, Hailey, and soon to be born Darrin; brother, Eugene (Jane) Arndt of Whittemore; sister, Darlene (Dean) Erickson of Prescott, brother-in-law, Sam Pavlik of Prescott; son-in-law, Andy Bergquist; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Don was preceded in death by his father, Earl Arndt; and a sister, Pam Pavlik. Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 19 at Buresh Funeral Home in Prescott with Reverend Kim Chenoweth officiating. Interment took place in Richland Township Cemetery.
