Donald Lloyd Phipps, 77, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012. He was born on May, 14, 1935 in Yuma, AZ. Donald graduated from Yuma High School in 1954. He was the captain of the Yuma Fire Department and retired in 1984 after 27 1/2 years. Donald enjoyed baseball and football as well as, fishing, hunting, camping in the mountains and desert. Donald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glenda Phipps of Yuma, AZ; son, Danny (Stacey) Phipps of Mesa, AZ; brother, Gene Phipps of Yuma, AZ; granddaughter, Lyndsey Phipps; grandsons, Jacob Phipps of Rapid City, SD, Nicholas Hernandez of Somerton, AZ, and Daniel Hernandez of Yuma; great-granddaughter, Zoey Renee Hernandez of Somerton, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Phipps; brothers, Daugherty and Raymond Phipps; daughter, Cynthia Dawn Phipps and granddaughter, Amanda Phipps.
