Donald L. Peterson1932-2017Donald Lee "Pete" Peterson, 85, passed away on May 9, 2017. He was born on March 7, 1932 in Niobraba, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie & Julian Peterson and a sister Betty Schamp. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Earline Walden Peterson, his daughter, Sonja Peterson and son, Eric Peterson; grandchildren Christina Laikada, Kayleigh (Philip) Strickland, Kyron (Rachel) Peterson and Aleini Saunders; great grandchildren Yona Laikada and Audrey Strickland, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mike and Judy Stephens and nephews Heath and Derek Stephens. Mr. Peterson retired from the United States Air Force in 1972 as an air traffic controller, then went on to be a truck driver for McKenzie, McLane's, Transporting MRI's from Sacred Heart to Baptist hospitals and Sexton.Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, immediately followed by a service.Arrangements have been entrusted to Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.Express your condolences in our guestbook at pnj.com/obits
