Donald R. CerboneAGE: 79 • Port MonmouthDonald R. Cerbone, 79, of Port Monmouth, NJ, died on March 18, 2017 surrounded by his family at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was born on May 7, 1937 in Newark, NJ to the late Louis and Mary (nee Bontempo) Cerbone. Donald worked for Schiavone Construction before purchasing his truck and becoming an Owner/Operator tractor trailer driver. After retiring, he went to work as a School Bus Aide at Helfrich Bussing. He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. after so many hours on the road, he learned to enjoy rest and relaxation when he could. He loved to take care of his home and truck. His greatest love was his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Beverly; his son, Donald Joseph Cerbone and his fiancè Christina Caiafa; his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Michael Zeccardi; his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Peter Santillo; and his granddaughters, Abigail, Isabella, Gianna.Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Louis Cerbone.Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 24 at 8:30 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Friday, March 24, 2017 at 9:30 am at St. Catherine's Church, 110 Bray Ave., N. Middletown.
