Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Donald Richard Swanson, 68, of Palm Coast, Florida, who passed away on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church in Flagler Beach.Donald was born on Aug. 9, 1948, in Jamestown, New York, to Lawrence Swanson and Joyce Hine. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and worked as a professional civil engineer at the New York State Department of Transportation and later at Dewberry Engineering. He was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church where he enjoyed many bible classes.Donald is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Christine Swanson of Palm Coast; dad to Jeffery Smaczniak and his wife Lisa, Jason Smaczniak, and Jennifer Nelson, all of Buffalo, New York; sister, Peggy Sweeney and her husband Randy of Lakewood, New York; grandchildren, Brittney and Kylie Nelson and Kristen and Ashley Smaczniak.
