Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Donald Richard Swanson, 68, of Palm Coast, FL, who passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017, will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church in Flagler Beach, FL. Donald was born on August 9, 1948 in Jamestown, New York to Lawrence Swanson and Joyce Hine. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and worked as a Professional Civil Engineer at New York State Department of Transportation and later at Dewberry Engineering. He was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church where he enjoyed many bible classes. Donald is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Christine Swanson of Palm Coast, FL; Dad to Jeffery Smaczniak and his wife Lisa, Jason Smaczniak, & Jennifer Nelson, all of Buffalo, NY; sister, Peggy Sweeney and her husband Randy of Lakewood, NY; grandchildren, Brittney & Kylie Nelson, Kristen and Ashley Smaczniak. Donald was preceded in death by his infant sister Lynn Joyce. In lieu of flowers, donations to Santa Maria del Mar Church or are appreciated.
