Donald B. SandersGlen RockDonald B. Sanders, 83, died Monday August 7, 2017 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, York. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Sanders) Sanders with whom he shared 60 years of marriage on December 29th. Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, with the Rev. Robert A. Yohe, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church.Don was born on September 26, 1933, on the Haines Acres Farm in York and was a son of the late Guy D. and Cora (Kebil) Sanders.He was a U.S. Army Veteran, of the Korean War, serving as a Corporal in the Tank Division at Ft. Hood TX. He had owned and operated Don's Barber Shop on Hanover Street in Glen Rock for over 50 years.He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403, Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Fire Company, Glen Rock Ambulance Club, the Wood Rock Run Hunting Camp in Grove Township, Sinnemahoning, PA and was Life Member of the McSherrystown Home Association.Besides his wife, he also leaves a son, Douglas B. Sanders (Lisa); a daughter, Doreen M. Miller (Brett), all of Glen Rock; three grandchildren, Brooke Chernov (Josh), Laken Hales (Pete), Michael Miller (Amanda); six great-grandchildren, Alexis Landis, Wyatt, Mikaela and Parker Chernov, Leilani and Quinton Hales; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Denise Marie Sanders; four sisters; and six brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N.
