Donald R. "Don" SeymourMANSFIELD: Donald R. "Don" Seymour, 80, of Mansfield passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Don was born on October 26, 1936 in Wellston, OH to the late Jasper Ray and Mary Margaret (Johnson) Seymour.Don grew up in southern Ohio, moving to Mansfield for a construction job with Labor Union #1216 to build the General Motors Plant. He later switched careers to work as a meat cutter with Haring Meats and Distl Quality Meats. Don was a faithful member of Journey Life Center. He was a member of the Richland County Fish and Game Club. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing but his favorite hobby of all was being with his grandchildren.Don is survived by his wife, Jean Seymour; three daughters, Barbara (Scott) Cole of Shelby, Debra Seymour of Mansfield, and Kathyrn McKean of Mansfield; two sons, Paul (Jill) Seymour of Shelby, and Donald Jr. (Delores) Seymour of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Wicker, Jacob (Kiera) Brinley, Nick McKean, Jessica Brinley, Tiffany Seymour, Amanda (Codey) Jones, and Natasha (Brandon) Rinehart; twelve great grandchildren, Jordan, Kadence, Ashtin, Jalen, Landen, Nick Jr., Trevor, Kaylee, Mason, Alanah, Milli, and Dominic; a brother, Harold Seymour of Wellston, OH; a sister, Ruth Lanane of Wellston, OH; a special nephew, Irvin (Patty) Daniels; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Allen Seymour; two brothers, Jack and Raymond Seymour; two sisters, Fern Smith and Marcella Vance.A special thank you to Hospice of North Central Ohio for the love and care of Don and the family.The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A funeral service, officiated by Dr. Bruce Philippi will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
