LEO — Donald Vernon Zolman, age 65, of Leo, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Mr. Zolman or "Zmann" was born on December 29, 1950, in Decatur, Indiana, to Clarence Zolman and Patty Ferris. Don served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a military police officer in Alaska. He retired after 20 years in 2011 from the maintenance department at Indiana Purdue University Fort Wayne. He enjoyed spending his retirement fishing, golfing, watching his grandson and traveling with his significant other. Survivors include three sons, Don Zolman of Kendallville, Andrew and Tara Zolman of Minnesota and Brandon Zolman of Huntertown; a daughter, Chelsee and Kevin Clark of Garrett; two grandchildren, John Zolman and Parker Clark; significant other, Teri Coe of Leo; mother, Patty Ferris of Avilla; and two half brothers, Jerry Ferris of Avilla and Jim Ferris of Florida. Don was preceded in death by his father, Emerson Ferris, and biological father, Clarence Zolman. Funeral services with military honors will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at 10 a.m., at Hite Funeral Home, 403 S. Main St., Kendallville.
