Donna Mae Kovnesky was born on January 17, 1946 to Walter and Phyllis Gretzon in Marinette, WI.She had thirteen brothers and sisters: Donna went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 14,2021. She was 74 years old.
Donna married Jonathon Kovnesky April 24, 1965. They have enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Over themany blessed years of marriage, Donna enjoyed many things, but her pride and joy were her children,grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved traveling with her children to all of their sportingevents. She played church league softball and coached the boys in Little League with Jonathon hasher co-coach.
Donna and Jonathon attend Poplar Creek Church where she was involved in the Women’s Ministryand Life Home Groups. Donna put her love for Christ first, family second and herself third.
As her children got older and had families of their own, Donna loved each one of her grandchildrenmore than anything. She babysat every grandchild. She loved watching them grow and was alwaysvery hands-on with her grandkids, attending sporting events, church events and life events as much as possible.
While Donna was babysitting her grandchildren, she became “Grandma Donna” to many as sheopened her home to do her lifelong passion of taking care of children. She loved every child she tookcare of as if they were her very own.
Donna enjoyed fishing, especially alongside her husband, Jonathon. They enjoyed many fishing trips,highlighted by trips to Canada to catch Walleye, where she always caught the biggest fish!
Donna also enjoyed cooking, canning, knitting and crocheting. She was always busy doing something.Her doilies, afghans, and many miscellaneous crafts were beautiful and will always be cherished.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Phyllis Gretzon; two brothers Arvid (Danita)Gretzon; and Roger (Nancy) Gretzon; sister Beverly (Raymond) Gorman; and son Duane (Amanda)Graetz.
She is survived by three sons Jeff Kovnesky (Tina), Jerry Kovnesky (Renee), Jon Kovnesky (Jill); eightgrandchildren Kayla (James) Williams, Vanessa Graetz, Sabrina Graetz, Katlyn (Mitch) Kovnesky –Lawrence, Cody Kovnesky, Jacob Kovnesky, Paige Kovnesky, Aiden Graetz, Serenity Graetz; four greatgrandchildren, Chase, Rylie, Hudson, and Harlow; four sisters Elsie (John) Gammerdinger, Barbara(Lauren) Fisher, Audrey (Randy) Hill, Doris Gretzon, Melody (Gayle) Handly; five brothers Ronnie(Carol) Gretzon, Floyd (Jeanine) Gretzon, Dale Gretzon, Larry (Kelly) Gretzon, Fred (Sue) Gretzon andmany nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Poplar Creek Church 17770 West Cleveland Ave New Berlin, WI 53146 onMonday January 18, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 pm. Service will follow directly after at 3:00 pm. The familywill be following CDC guidelines. Burial Service will follow on Tuesday for immediate family.
