Method, Donna Mae (Nee Miller)Donna Mae (Nee Miller) Method, 81, of Green Valley, AZ, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, while under hospice care. Donna was born on June 29, 1935 in Ashland, WI, the fourth child of Winifred Ann (Nee Lyons) Miller and Lawrence Henry Miller. She attended St. Agnes Grade School and was a graduate of DePadua High School, Ashland, WI. On June 8, 1957, she married Albert E. Method, Jr. at St. Agnes Church (now Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church), Ashland, WI. During her lifetime, she set up loving households in Milwaukee, WI, Englewood and Hillsdale, NJ, and Rothschild, WI, before retiring to Green Valley in 2005. Donna and Al began their married life in Ashland where she was employed at the city hall as secretary to Mayor Mark Movrich. They subsequently moved to Milwaukee where she worked in the International Banking Department of the First Wisconsin National Bank. Upon Al's transfer to New York City in 1958, Donna worked six years in the International Banking Department of the United Jersey Bank in Hackensack, NJ, and at McBride Enterprises, Franklin Lakes, NJ. After their return to Wisconsin in December of 1975, Donna worked as Administrative Assistant at the former Zimpro Inc. of Rothschild, WI, for eight years. In 1985 she began working as Executive Assistant at Modu-Line Windows Systems, (presently Oldcastle Glass Engineered Products), Wausau, WI and retired 18 years later in January 2003. Donna will be especially remembered for her quiet generosity, care, and concern for others, her keen sense of perception and her wit and humor in storytelling, traits she inherited from her mother. She was extremely fond of all her grandchildren. She enjoyed walking, exercising, reading, writing, dancing, and traveling. Donna was also a Kennedy buff. In addition to her scrapbooks of their family, she collected and read books about all of their lives. Roger Whittaker's music was her favorite. Her hobby was collecting obituaries of all the individuals she knew when they passed away, dating way back to friends, relatives, and acquaintances of her mother. Donna loved clothes and shoes. She loved shopping and friends she was closest to often referred to her as a fashion maven. She was a member of The Parish of The Resurrection of Jesus Christ, Wausau, and Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Green Valley. Donna served as a member of the Administrative Assistant Advisory Committee at North Central Technical College, Wausau; she was a member of the YMCA; Metro Club; and a volunteer at the Performing Arts Organization. She was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 2592 and Elks Auxiliary Green Valley Unit 0066.She is survived by two devoted children, Jason Parker (Jane) Method, Bordentown, NJ, and Cora Wynn (Paul) Limburg, Rochester, MN; a wonderful daughter-like friend, Wendy Daigle, Maynard, MA, who affectionately referred to her as "Mrs. Mom"; six loving grandchildren, Abigail Mae Method, (her namesake), Emma Caroline Method, Alicia Clare Method, Rebecca Ally Method (her grandfather's namesake), Benjamin David Limburg, and Eleyna Terise Limburg; her best friend/sister since first grade, Mary (Blahnik) Foley, Normal, IL; and a very special friend, John Incha, Pickerel, who brought joy and companionship to her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in August 2001; her parents, Winifred and Lawrence Miller; her sisters, Sr. Joyce Miller FSPA and Pat Szafarz, formerly of Washburn, WI, two infant brothers, Anthony and Joseph Miller, and a beloved and cherished aunt, Helen Estella Lyons, in whose home she was raised.Services and burial to be held Tuesday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Cemetery, Ashland. Mountain Funeral Home in Ashland will handle arrangements.
