D. Annette Huckabee - KennonJackson, TNFuneral services for Doris Annette Huckabee - Kennon will be conducted on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with burial to follow at Nebo Cemetery .Dr. Bill Sims will officiate the service. Annette was born on October 12, 1952 to the late Dorsey and Anna Huckabee of Jackson. She graduated from Southside High school in 1970, and attended Union University where she graduated in 1976 with a degree in Registered Nursing. Annette was employed in Jackson's local hospitals and served as nursing instructor in Oklahoma City, OK. Annette had a passion to work specifically in Spanish language culture countries so she attended New Orleans Theological seminary to prepare for Missionary work. She served a year each in Costa Rica, Chile, and Columbia until 1986 where she incurred a disability and retired from full-time work. Annette passed away July 19, 2017 after a long illness.Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, a brother, and one nephew. Annette is survived by her husband of 20 years Jerry Kennon, a sister, Carla McRae (Mike) of Gulf Breeze, FL and several Nieces and Nephews.A visitation will be conducted on Friday from 11 am until the time of the service at 1 pm in the South Chapel.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Baptist Foreign Missionary fund.
