KINSTON | Evangelist Doris Mae Chapman, M.A, (Ed.D. 2015) was born on March 20, 1944, to the late Clarence Dail and Esther Mae Dail. She departed this earthly life to ascend into glory on September 11, 2014. The homegoing celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the United American Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1011 J.E. Reddick Drive, Kinston, with the Rev. Dr. John T. Chapman officiating. The interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 4488 U.S. 70, Kinston. Doris leaves to cherish her loving memory: husband Bishop J.P. Chapman Sr. of Kinston; two sons, Dr. James Peter Chapman Jr. (Angela) of Greensboro and Dr. John T. Chapman (Lakithia) of Knightdale; six grandchildren, Trey, Malana, Nijah, Zoë, Asher and Abigail; two great-grandchildren, Amari and Savannah; six sisters, Joanne Bell of Kinston, Shirley Rhoe of Kinston, Ester Powell (James) of Kinston, Brenda Johnson (Eddie) of Jacksonville, Patricia Pritchett of Ruther Glenn, Va., and Carol Arrington (Chuck) of Hyattsville, Md.; five brothers, Robert Dail of Kinston, James Dail of Greensboro, Melvin Dail of Laurel, Md., David Dail (Zena) of Monroe and Andrew Dail (Janet) of Knightdale; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 4-7 p.m. with the family at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. Swinson Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
