Doris Porter Ecelbarger, 89, passed away at the home of her daughter in Reynoldsville on Nov. 5, 2017.She was born on July 30, 1928, in Big Run, a daughter of the late S. Irvin and Olive Huff Weber.Doris graduated from Meadville High School. She worked for Cameron Manufacturing of Reynoldsville, was Chief Clerk of Jefferson County and ended her career as VP of Roush & Averill Interiors of Gaithersburg, Maryland.She attended the First United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville.Doris was a member of Utopia Club in Reynoldsville and had been very active in Business and Professional Women's Club of MD and Hospice Caring of Gaithersburg, Maryland. She was an avid knitter and made hats for the NICU, Hahne Cancer Center and Carewear of Maryland. She was also known for her love of NASCAR.She is survived by one daughter, Linda (John) Straitiff of Reynoldsville; one son, Scott (Karen Sicheri) Porter of Corpus Christi Texas; step-daughters L. Kay Ecelbarger of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and Debbie (Martin) Michlik of Alexandria, Virginia, and stepson Frank L. Ecelbarger Jr. of Casselberry, Florida; seven grandchildren, Joseph (Shelley) Straitiff, John K. Straitiff IV, Lori Porter (Barry) Reed, Kate (Chris) Wallace, Nathan (Stacey) Ecelbarger, Timothy Ecelbarger and Joy Ecelbarger; nine great-grandchildren; and foster daughter Mary (George) Catarouche of Punxsutawney.Doris was preceded in death by husbands Edwin P. Porter (1961) and Frank L. Ecelbarger Sr. (2004). In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by sisters Faith Weber Minor and Nellie Weber Anderson and brothers Samuel I. Weber Jr. and Charles H. Weber.Friends will be received Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. at the Reynoldsville United Methodist Church. A "Celebration of Life" memorial service will be held at the church at 4 p.m., officiated by Pastor Tom Carr.Her ashes will be interred at Lakelawn Memorial Park.Memorial donations may be made in Doris' memory to Penn Highland Hospice or to the Reynoldsville Public Library.Online condolences may be made at
