Doris (Allshouse) Johns Smith, age 95, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at the Brookville Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1920, in Stanton, PA, to the late Harvey and Cora E. (Zimmerman) Allshouse. On July 2, 1964, she married Leonard Johns in Brookville, PA. Leonard preceded her in death on October 24, 1993. In January of 1998, she married Daniel Smith. Daniel preceded her in death on April 16, 1999. She retired from the Glove Factory as a Supervisor, and she worked as a greeter at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville, PA. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Bible study, and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She is survived by 1 sister, Betty Jane (Ben) Carroll, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great-great niece. In addition to her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by 3 brothers; Wilson, Ralph, and Donald Allshouse; 1 sister, Dora (Alford) Nelson; 1 niece, Susan (John) Benner; and 1 nephew, Frederick Allshouse. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm, at the McKinney – d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main. St., Brookville, PA, 15825. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015, also at the funeral home, beginning at 10:00am, with the Rev. Chuck Jack Officiating. Interment to take place at St. Johns Cemetery (Windy Hill) in Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
