Dorothy Carmon-Dixon was born on August 19, 1947, in Winterville, North Carolina. She passed away on April 7, 2024, at the age of 76. Dorothy was a beloved member of her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Dorothy was married to Rev. Samuel L. Dixon in 1962 and together they raised five children. Samuel Dixon Jr. (Linda) Lorraine Dixon, Barbara Dixon Wilson (Bryant) Oliver Dixon, Donnie Dixon (Latrice) & Ronnie Dixon (Kim). A host of 23 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren.She had a very special relationship with granddaughter Shameika Dixon AKA Meeko & a very special relationship to great-granddaughter lil miss Laiyah Dixon who was her whole heart. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, always putting her family first. Dorothy's love and affection for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
In addition to her dedication to her family, Dorothy had a passion for cooking. She could often be found in the kitchen, whipping up delicious meals for her loved ones & friends to enjoy. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she took great pride in not sharing her recipes with others. She was known as the best cook around by everyone who knew her.
Dorothy's warm and welcoming personality left a lasting impact on those around her. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and sense of humor & sweetness. Her presence brought joy to everyone she encountered, and her memory will continue to bring comfort to those who knew her.
Although Dorothy is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be remembered for years to come. May she rest in peace.
