It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Ann Goodman on January 26, 2025. She left this world peacefully at the age of 72 in the comfort of her home while watching The Commanders get their butts whooped. She was surrounded by family including her sons and daughter-in-law.

Dorothy Ann Goodman was born on November 11, 1952, to the late Maggie Hayes and Willie Thomas Goodman in Isle of Wight County in Virginia where they raised a self-sufficient daughter. Later the family moved to Suffolk, Virginia where Dorothy began her journey of education in the public school system of Virginia. She later graduated and began working for the school system as Head of Janitorial Operations for 10 years. Dorothy soon met her sweetheart Zack who she started a family with in Suffolk, Virginia giving birth to their first born Toby Goodan.

Dorothy soon decided that Suffolk Virginia was too slow for her liking and decided to move to Southwest Washington DC where she started raising her son. Dorothy started working for DC Housing for some years before working for the DC School System as Supervisor of Sanitation. She also worked a security job before deciding to retire.

After retirement Dorothy moved to 56 N Street SW in Washington, DC (The Green Leaf County) where she was well known for her spunky attitude and generous heart often feeding anyone who didn't have food. She loved her friends and treated every child like they were her own. As the children she loved grew up they never failed to check on her. She was also famous for putting people out if they got in her way. Dorothy loved her grand-daughters and gave them anything they asked for no matter what their mom or dad said. She will be truly missed by all and left this world in peace.

Dorothy Ann Goodman is survived by her sons Toby Goodman, Stretch and Tay; her daughters Jacquelyn, Patty, Arlecia Goodan (daughter-in-law); 3 grand-daughters Kyla Goodman, Kattleya Jones and Piper Johnson along with a host of bonus grand-children and bonus sons Martin, Quincy, Greg, Author, B-Boop & Bernard; her best friend Liz Young along with her good friends Anthony, Gwen & Peanut along with a host of other loving family members and friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother Mrs. Magie Hayes, her father Mr. Willie Goodman along with 3 sisters and grand-son Toby Goodan Jr. & Kareem (Bonus Son) to welcome her through the pearly gates of heaven.
