Dorothy L. BrightwellMansfield: Dorothy Lee BRIGHTWELL, 90, passed this life Monday, September 4, 2017 in Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Mrs. Brightwell was born on Friday, April 22, 1927 to the late William C. and Hattie L. (Crocker) Hardrick in Lumpkin, Georgia and had lived in Mansfield the past 69 years. Dorothy was the co-owner of George W. Fox Agency a collections service for 21 years selling the business in 1993. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she served on the Trustee Board, and as a Sunday School Teacher for 36 years before retiring. Dorothy was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, May Chapter Lodge #62 and the American Legion Post #676 Auxiliary.Dorothy is survived by her daughter Marlene Brightwell and her companion, Don Jones; step-daughter: Diane Favours; granddaughter: Stephanie Brightwell-Jones; 2 step grandchildren: Michelle and Carlos Favours all of Columbus; 5 great grandchildren; 3 nieces: Brenda McDowell, of Mansfield, Annie E. Thomas, of Chicago, and Carolyn M. Catchings, of Trotwood; great niece: Monya McDowell, of Mansfield; a special sister-in-law Gwen Buck and the entire Luckie Family; and special friends Robert and Carolyn Chapman, of Mansfield. In addition to her parents Dorothy was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas, 4 siblings including Katherine Latimer and Eugene (Lena) Hardrick. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with her pastor Rev. Derek Williams, officiating. Friends may call at the church beginning at 10 a.m. till time of service.
