Dorothy "Janie" Dodge Billingsley BROWNSBURG, IN: Dorothy "Janie" Dodge Billingsley, 71, of Brownsburg, Indiana ( formerly of Monroe County, Ohio ) passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014. She was born on February 19, 1943 a daughter of the late Harold and Irene Bankes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifton D. Dodge and her step-father, Clyde Hendershot. Janie was a graduate of Skyvue High School, Lipscomb University and Ohio Valley University. She spent her life encouraging all students from the New Mexico Indian reservations where she began her teaching career to West Muskingum High School, Zanesville, Ohio where she retired in 2004 after serving as high school counselor for thirteen years. Regardless of where Janie lived she was beloved by her neighbors, active in her local church teaching Bible classes and many other acts of service, active in the Hendricks County Extension Service and was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Surviving are her husband, Johnny Billingsley; son, Shane (Kim) Dodge; brother, Tom (Denise) Hendershot; step-children, Dawn (Mark) McKenzie, Debbie (Mark) Cobb, Eric (Amy) Billingsley, Matt (Kelly) Billingsley; 15 grandchildren, Zoey Dodge, Hannah Stevens, Ben Stevens, Nathan McKenzie, Annie McKenzie, Zhanna McKenzie, Ella McKenzie, Abigail Cobb, Brandon Cobb, Haley Billingsley, Jordan Billingsley, Cole Billingsley, Nathan Billingsley, Daniel Billingsley, Lydia Billingsley; and a cousin, Laverne (Darlene) Winland. Friends will be received at the Woodsfield Church of Christ, 860 Lewisville Road, Woodsfield, Ohio from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 5, 2014. Burial will follow in the Creighton Ridge Cemetery near Sycamore Valley, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and/or Grace on Wings, P.O.
