ABBOTTSTOWN Dorothy E. (Amspacher) Stiffler Grote, 87, formerly of Glen Rock, died Monday November 17, 2014 at the Brethren Home Community at Cross Keys. She was the wife of the late Stuart C. "Bill" Stiffler and the late Charles A. Grote Jr. Dorothy was born on August 28, 1927 in Codorus Township, a daughter of the late Fred A. and Claudia B. (Masimore) Amspacher. She was employed as a machine operator with AMP, Inc. for many years. She was a member of Zion Shaffer's United Lutheran Church, Seven Valleys and loved animals, especially her pets, and enjoyed gardening and her flower beds. She was also devoted to her family and enjoyed seeing everyone. She is survived by two daughters, Kay E. Wood of Abbottstown and her companion, George Price, Susan M. Nagar and her husband, Steve of Sayre; two sons, Larry E. Stiffler and his wife, Jane of Glen Rock and David A. Stiffler and his wife, Candy of Trappe, Md.; eight grandchildren, Todd, Kevin, Andrew, Jacob, Abram and Faith Stiffler, Matthew and Jonathan Nagar; and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline G. Daniels of Stewartstown, Irene E. Grogan of Pinetops, N.C. and Betty M. Warner of York. She was predeceased by a sister, Arlene Graham and a brother, Donald Amspacher. Following cremation a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday November 21, 2014 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock with the Rev. Dr. Margaret Wise and the Rev. Dr. Matthew Stillman officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
