Dorothy Grace CampbellDorothy Grace Campbell, 95, passed away on May 17, 2017. She was born on December 28, 1921 to Carl and Grace Bauer in Northport, Nebraska. She met Russell, her husband, while serving in the Army during World War II as a helicopter mechanic. They married in 1945, and had 3 children, Russell, Lynda and Michael. Dorothy and Russell shared a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles and traveled across the United States together. She had a passion for painting and was quite talented. She was a master at "mud pie" making, which she enjoyed teaching her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild how to make. She had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed traveling to see many of nature's wonders. She was adored by her family and especially her "Little darling" Lillie.Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Campbell and her youngest son, Michael Campbell.She is survived by her son, Russell Campbell and his wife, Susan; daughter, Lynda Young and her husband, Lewis; daughter-in-law, Wanda Campbell; four grandchildren, Jeff Campbell and partner, David, Michelle Cologna and her husband, Andy, Doug Campbell and his wife, Melissa and Will Young and his wife, Jamie; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.A special "thanks" to Susan Campbell for all the love and caring you have given to Dorothy.Private family burial will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
