KENDALLVILLE — Dorothy Mae Herendeen, age 69, of Kendallville, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at her residence. Mrs. Herendeen was born on August 29, 1947, in Garrett, Indiana to the late Frank and Della (Smith) Beckwith. She attended Kendallville High School. On August 12, 1972, she married Warren Herendeen at the United Methodist Church in Rome City. Dorothy worked as a server at the Rivergreen Golf Course in Avon Park, Florida. She loved her family and grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed stitching, crafts, and loved when she could play a round of golf. Survivors include: husband, Warren Herendeen; daughters, Terri and Michael Gerber, Rhonda Herendeen, Amy and Chris Pruett and Cassie Herendeen; sons, Todd and Angel Herendeen, Scott and Karen Herendeen, Troy and Cindy Herendeen and Brett Herendeen; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carolyn Ruth Long and Betty Louise Kammerer. She was preceded in death by a sister, Beveryly Jean Potter; brother, Frank Lee Beckwith; and one grandson, Ronnie Scott Herendeen. A memorial service in her honor will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Christian Baptist Church, 2838 E. U.S. Highway 6, Kendallville, Indiana 46755.
