Dorothy Irene CutlerThousand Oaks, CADorothy Irene Cutler passed away peacefully in her Thousand Oaks home on Jan 15th, 2017 at the age of 96. She was born on Oct. 25th, 1920 in Chicago Illinois. She was the youngest of three children including her eldest brother James Tracy and her sister Mildred (Tracy) Van Trump. She met her husband Richard Preston Cutler while working at Lockheed and after getting engaged on Valentine's Day, the two were married June 1st, 1941. They had five boys together and the couple designed their dream ranch style home to raise their family in Chatsworth, California. Dorothy was a devoted Catholic, active in her parish and loved Christ. She maintained her love of the piano and taught several of her grandchildren to play. Always an animal lover, she owned several pets including her devoted dogs that she treated like family. She was an avid gardener and loved to travel with her sister Mildred (Millie). Dorothy lived the later part of her life close by to her youngest son Don and his family in Thousand Oaks California after the passing of her husband Dick in 1975 and the unexpected death of her second son Steven in 1979. She is survived by four of her five sons and their families including David & Janice Cutler, Douglas & Kathy Cutler, Dennis & Debbie Cutler and Donald & Debbie Cutler. She has ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28th at San Fernando Mission Hills Mortuary at 11160 Stranwood Ave, Mission Hills, Ca 91345.
