BIOGRAPHY
Born in Wilmington, the youngest of Joe and Agnes Williams and sister to Beverly; Dorothy decided to move to Florida to acquire a degree in teaching from Bethune-Cookman University. Dorothy succeeded and had become an elementary school teacher in the late '50s and did charity work throughout the years. While at Bethune Dorothy encountered her soon to be husband, Dr. Roosevelt Jones. Soon after graduating, the couple rejoiced in the birth of their son Michael.
Dorothy was known for being a proper lady and always greeted people with a smile and an open heart. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her devotion to family represented a significant part of her identity. There was nothing better than family gatherings, she loved to see them all.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Roosevelt Jones, son, Michael Jones,
sister, Beverly Thomas, her five amazing grandchildren, and all beloved family and friends.
