Dorothy R. KelleyGreenville, SCDorothy Ruth (Carman) Kelley, known to all as "Dottie", passed away peacefully on the morning of October 5, 2016 after a long illness, with her loving daughter Joann Kelley at her side. Formerly of Little Rock, AR, Louisville, KY and York, PA, Dottie spent her final years in Greenville, SC.Dottie was born on February 12, 1933. Preceding her in death are her parents, William T. Carman, Sr. and Christine F.(DeLeuil) Carman, brother William T. Carman Jr. and sister Dicksie Heilman, her beloved husband Billy Joe Kelley, and a son, Richard James Kelley. Dottie is survived by five children, Regina Slenker (Kenneth), Joann Kelley, Robert Kelley (Robin), William Kelley, and Teresa Miller (Ronald). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.Dottie was a great lover of music and dance. She enjoyed singing along with Patsy Cline tunes and reminiscing about her days jitterbugging at the teen clubs in Louisville, KY. She was a bright, funny, and stubborn soul who chose to laugh in the face of illness and advancing age, and stayed true to her unique personality until the very end. She will be dearly missed. In celebration of her vibrancy, we invite all attendees to wear purple or teal, her favorite colors. The viewing will be 6-8 pm Friday October 14, 2016 at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2114 W. Market St. York. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Saturday at St. Patrick Church 231 S. Beaver St. York with the Rev. Keith Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The , The , or Saint Patrick's Church of York, PA.
