, BURLINGTON - Dorothy L. Solofra, 81, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 12, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born on July 27, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Charles and Emily (nee: Rezabek) Verba. She spent her early life and received her education in Chicago. On January 14, 1950 in Chicago, Dorothy was united in marriage to Kenneth Michael Solofra. Following marriage they resided in Pell Lake from 1965 until 1968 before making their home in Burlington. Kenneth preceded Dorothy in death on July 26, 2006. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She loved to cook and was a wonderful baker. She enjoyed working on crafts, which she donated to St. Charles fundraisers. Dorothy loved to travel with her husband and had logged many miles on their RV. She passed many hours working on jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Dorothy had 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and never missed a Birthday or a holiday. Survivors include her children; Michael S. (Noreen) Solofra of Burlington, Linda K. Kalous of Burlington, Kenneth F. Solofra of Raymond, Karen E. (Robert) Dechantigny of Burlington and Kathryn E. Warren of Burlington, 11 grandchildren; Jennifer (Brad) Miller, Shannon (Bob) Koehler, Aiden Kalous, Jared and Alex Dechantigny, Les and Emily Warren, Frank (Laurel) Solofra, Jacob and Kerrie Solofra and Kelly (Matt) Henrichs, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and by brothers, Charles and Richard Verba. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Church with Rev. Steve Amann officiating. Burial to follow at St. Charles Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the Church on Saturday, from 9 a.m.until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials have been suggested to St. Charles Parish or to Odyssey Hospice.
