Dorothy Otey Berryhill:
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Otey Berryhill, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Dorothy passed away at the age of 72 on May 16, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Dorothy was born on September 21, 1950, to parents Joseph and Edna Otey in an undefined location. She grew up in a loving household with her two siblings and attended a local school where she excelled academically. She later went on to attend college, where she received her degree in education, paving the way for a rewarding career.
Throughout her life, Dorothy was a kind and compassionate woman who always put others first. She was a dedicated teacher and spent many years enriching the lives of her students, inspiring them to achieve their dreams. Dorothy's passion for education was evident in her every endeavor, and she was well-respected by both her colleagues and her students.
Dorothy was also a devoted wife to her husband, James, whom she met while they were in college. They were married for 48 years and shared a beautiful life together. They raised their three children with love and devotion and created many cherished memories along the way. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, and nothing brought her more joy than being a grandmother to her six grandchildren.
In addition to her professional and personal accomplishments, Dorothy was an active member of her community. She was a faithful member of her church, where she volunteered her time to help those in need. She also participated in local charitable events and supported various causes that were close to her heart.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kind and loving spirit touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she created. We take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her Lord and Savior, and that she is at peace.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on undefined date at an undefined location. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to undefined charity. Rest in peace, dear Dorothy, and thank you for the tremendous impact you had on our lives.
